How I Rebuilt My Business That Feels Like Me

There’s a point in every online business journey where things stop feeling aligned. The hustle, the aesthetics, the “you should be doing this” advice — it piles up until your brand feels like a costume you’re wearing. That’s exactly where I found myself a year ago.

I had built a following, created offers, and “done everything right.” But it felt off. I had outgrown the version of myself I was showing online. I wanted more softness, more intention, more me.

So I burned it all down.

I deleted my Instagram posts. I paused everything that didn’t feel aligned. I stopped trying to please the algorithm and started asking myself: what kind of brand do I actually want to build?

That moment led to a full rebrand — not just in visuals, but in values. I didn’t want to be another content machine. I wanted to build a soft, sustainable, dreamy business that supported the life I actually wanted: slow mornings, creative freedom, and income from writing.

Here’s how you can do the same — not just visually, but emotionally, energetically, and practically.

1. Get Clear On What You Actually Want

Not what you think you should do. Not what the trends say.

Start with this question: What does my dream business look like, feel like, and give me in my actual life?

Do you want to work 10 hours a week? Travel often? Create digital products? Write from cozy cafes? Be honest about the lifestyle you’re building. Your brand should reflect and support that.

This clarity will shape everything — from your offers to your content to your brand tone.

2. Choose Topics You Genuinely Care About

Your niche isn’t just what’s profitable — it’s the intersection of your interests, your expertise, and your ideal client’s needs.

I started writing about digital business, email marketing, and slow online income because I had lived that journey. I wasn’t trying to be a marketing bro. I was just sharing what I knew from building a soft, story-led brand.

You don’t need to be the expert of the internet. You just need to be a few steps ahead and passionate about your message.

3. Build a Vibe, Not Just a Logo

Your brand is not your fonts or your colors — it’s the feeling people get when they come across your work.

Start asking yourself:

  • What energy do I want people to feel when they land on my page?
  • What type of content would I be excited to consume?
  • What makes my brand different from others in my niche?

The answers will help you create a brand that feels personal, magnetic, and sustainable to keep showing up for.

4. Share the “How,” Not Just the Highlights

We’re all tired of polished “look at my life” content. If you want your brand to actually connect, show people how you’re doing what you’re doing.

Don’t just share the pretty laptop-in-Bali shots — share how you got there. Talk about the emails you send, the course creation process, the mindset shifts.

The more transparent you are, the more trust you build. That trust becomes community — and later, conversions.

5. Create Offers That Align With Your Brand Vision

If you want to make money doing what you love, your offers should reflect the way you want to live.

For me, that meant selling a course that teaches people how to build a soft, sustainable digital business. It’s built around story, writing, and email — the things I already love doing.

You don’t need a million products. You just need one really good offer that helps your people in a way that feels good to you.

6. Focus on Connection Over Growth

You don’t need 100,000 followers. You need connection.

If your content makes someone feel seen, they’ll remember you. They’ll join your list. They’ll read your emails. And when the time comes, they’ll buy from you.

Slow growth is not failure — it’s depth. And depth is what builds a dreamy, long-lasting business.

My Own Rebrand: What Changed for Me

For a long time, I was building a version of my business that didn’t fully feel like mine. I was following the formulas. Posting what I thought I should. Trying to grow fast, stay visible, keep up with the algorithm.

But it all started to feel… hollow. I was burnt out. Disconnected from my audience. And honestly, disconnected from myself.

So I made a bold decision: I burned it all down. I deleted dozens of posts, archived offers, and took a step back to ask — what kind of business do I actually want to wake up to every day?

That’s when everything shifted.

I rebranded around softness, storytelling, and self-expression.

I started writing the way I talk.

I stopped trying to go viral and started focusing on depth over reach.

I leaned fully into email as my main platform and I created Her Soft Digital Empire Playbook — a course that helps women start their own dreamy digital business through emails and soft online presence.

I started sending Designed By Her Diaries — weekly “love letter” emails that feel like a warm hug in your inbox.

I stopped obsessing over reels and likes, and started measuring success by connection and consistency.

And the result? My brand finally feels like home. Not only am I making more aligned sales, but I feel more creatively fulfilled, more energized, and more proud of the space I’ve built online.

Want to Build Your Own Soft Digital Brand?

If this post made you feel something — you’ll love my email Diaries. I send 2x a week, filled with behind-the-scenes stories, lessons on slow online income, and how to build a brand that actually feels like you.

You can subscribe here, but only if you are serious about building your dream online business.
