I have been watching SATC since I was 12 years old.
It was never really about the fashion or the drama for me, it was the lifestyle. The way Carrie sat at her laptop, typed her thoughts out, and somehow that was her whole job.
Getting paid to write. Building a life around her words. The cafes, the freedom, the feeling of it all.
For years I genuinely thought that kind of life was fictional. Something reserved for a very specific type of woman in a very specific city with a very specific book deal.
And then somewhere in my early 30s I looked around and realized I had kind of built it anyway.
Not the $700 Manhattan apartment or the Vogue column, but the same feeling. Rice fields outside the window instead of skyscrapers. Iced latte instead of a cosmopolitan. Getting paid to write from anywhere in the world with zero reels in sight.
NYC is still on my bucket list but it turns out you do not actually need it to live this way.
What a Carrie Bradshaw Era Looks Like In 2026
It looks like a blog that brings new readers to you every single day from Google while you are asleep, on a flight, living your actual life.
An email list full of women who genuinely look forward to hearing from you every week. Income that comes from your words and your ideas rather than your face or your follower count.
Carrie did not film herself getting ready and post it to TikTok. She just wrote and people loved her for it.
That model works just as well in 2026 as it did in 1998 and it works better because everyone else is burnt out from filming themselves and desperately craving something real to read.
What Made It Possible For Me
I spent 3 years before this posting b-rolls and listening to every guru who swore that consistency on Instagram was the answer.
Three years I will never get back. 😂
What actually changed everything was starting a blog and an email list and just writing. Honestly and consistently in my own voice.
My blog brings in readers from Pinterest every day without me lifting a finger. My email list is full of women who reply to my emails, who invest into my resources, who tell me they look forward to Saturdays because of my diary.
That kind of relationship does not come from an Instagram caption that disappears after 24 hours.
Writing builds something that stays and that is what creates real income over time.
How to Start Writing When You Feel Like You Have Nothing To Say
This is the thing that stops most people before they even begin. They sit down, open a blank page and immediately convince themselves they have nothing interesting enough to write about.
Write about the thing you googled last week. The question you asked a friend over coffee. The problem you solved recently that felt small to you but might feel huge to someone else.
The most relatable writing is rarely the perfect expert advice, it is the honest account of someone figuring things out in real time.
Being one step ahead of someone and willing to write about it is enough to start.
