Lately, I’ve been able to grow my email list organically through Threads — not with paid ads or complicated things, but simply by writing consistently on Threads.
I’m currently gaining around 800+ new subscribers per month to Designed By Her Diaries. My storytelling email series — and nearly all of them are coming from my content on Threads.
If you want to see what I send to my email list each week, you can subscribe to The Diaries here.
Alright, here’s the exact strategy that’s been working for me, plus how I’m using pinned posts and clear audience messaging to attract the right people — without constant hustling.

A Pinned Post That Does The Heavy Lifting
Most of my subscribers come through one single piece of content: my pinned post. At first, I didn’t think the pinned post really mattered — but now it’s doing a lot of the work for me.
Instead of pinning something random or viral, I created a post that introduces what I do, who it’s for, and gives a clear invitation to subscribe to The Diaries.
It’s simple. It sounds like me. And it ends with: “I write soft letters like this every week. They’re free. Subscribe here if you want to read them.”
I don’t change it often. I just let it live at the top of my profile and let it do its job.
I’m Extremely Clear On Who I’m Writing For
I’m not trying to go viral or appeal to the masses. Everything I post is written with one specific type of person in mind.
I write for women who want to create a calm, creative online business — who are tired of the “go hard or go home” energy and want something softer. Maybe they want to start a blog, grow their email list, or build digital income without feeling like they have to be everywhere.
Once I got super clear on who I was writing for, my content started connecting more — and that connection is what gets people to click and subscribe.

My Link Leads To a Simple Landing Page
In my Threads bio, I link directly to a landing page where people can subscribe to The Diaries.
It’s not a Linktree or a list of many options. It’s one clean page with a short explanation of what the newsletter is, who it’s for, and a form to join.
When people come from Threads, they’ve usually seen a few posts that already match the vibe of the newsletter — so when they land on that page, it feels like a natural next step. This setup converts way better than having a Linktree or Stanstore with multiple freebies and offers.
I believe that the more offers and options you have, people get confused and won’t click or buy anything.
Less is more here.
I Post Every Day — Even When I’m Not Feeling “Inspired”
I try to post a few times a day — nothing crazy. Sometimes it’s one post, sometimes five. They’re not complicated or overthought. Most of the time I write them directly into the app.
I focus on four main topics:
- Writing online
- Building a soft digital empire (email lists and digital offers)
- Soft marketing and storytelling
- Making calm, consistent income without burnout
- European summers (this is what my audience love)
I rotate between little thoughts, small stories, and short advice. Some of them do well, some of them flop — but because I post every day, something is always working in the background.
I don’t try to be a content machine. I just try to show up every day.
I Mention My Diaries Often — Without Being Pushy
You can’t just drop a link and expect people to click. You have to actually talk about it.
That’s why I mention The Diaries often, but in a way that feels casual — like this: “If this resonates, you’d probably enjoy The Diaries. I send them out twice a week. They’re soft, story-based emails — and they’re free.”
Sometimes it’s at the end of a post, sometimes I dedicate an entire post to it. I don’t make it a big “sales pitch,” I just talk about it like something I love.
Final Thoughts
Growing your email list doesn’t have to be complicated.
For me, Threads has been the easiest and most natural way to grow my diaries. I don’t have a huge audience. I’m not doing any paid ads. I’m just posting intentionally and consistently — and pointing people to a place where they can join easily.
If you’ve been thinking of using Threads to grow your email list, this is your sign to start. You don’t need a perfect strategy — you just need to simplify things and having a clear offer, a solid pinned post, and a message that actually speaks to your people.
Ps. If you want to get honest emails delivered straight to your inbox twice a week, I’d love for you to join Designed By Diaries. It’s where I share stories, tips, and everything I’m learning about building a calm, creative soft digital empire.
